If you are a CoOp Member, did you know you could vote for us and help us fundraise?

Machars and Cree Valley Climate Action Network has been chosen to be part of the next round of the Co-op Local Community Fund (Cause ID: 87488)
The funding round started this Autumnand will run for 12 months until 19 October 2025. During this time, Co-op Members will be able to choose us as their cause, the more members who choose us, the more money we will receive…. so we hope that you can help us so we can help our local communities learn more about the natural world around them, soils, food, climate action, sustainability and more!

As one of our supports says “Get a Coop membership card, register this cause as your preferred cause, and shop at the Coop.”

It is THAT easy!

It’s that time of year again when we are looking forward to our annual January Potato Day

Thank you for your support of our previous Potato Days. Last year’s event was a huge success and we raised £1500 for Food Train.

We will have onions, shallots and garlic on sale on the day and hope to be able to offer them for reasonable prices. We are not offering them on the pre order form but will advise what we will have for sale, with prices, ahead of the event.

If you have friends or family who would be interested in placing their seed potato orders with us, please pass on the order form and our contact details.

If you are interested in being part of the tattie team (many hands make lighter work!) please let us know and you’ll be made very welcome.

We are very much looking forward to meeting you all again in January!

We are super excited to be bringing an environmentally-themed community art exhibition to The Machars next year!

Are you inspired by nature? Do you have strong feelings about the environment? Do you want to share something about your favourite place?
You’re welcome to enter our second Create for Climate community art event by entering a creation, where it can be viewed and you may voted as the winning piece to win a prize!
Anything creative that you’ve made is welcome – a sculpture, a painting, a drawing, a photograph etc…even a poem!
It’s even an opportunity to sell your pieces.
Please see poster for more details and keep an eye out for updates here, on our Facebook page and our website.
Everyone is welcome to come along to view the art installed at Number 12 during the exhibition period, where you will be encouraged to vote for your favourite piece.
We welcome professional creatives to display their work too, but leave the community exhibition and competition for the amateur creators. Please get in touch for more information.
